Karl’s Story

Karl Henri Joseph immigrated Haiti at the age of ten, with his brother and sister to join his parents and newborn baby brother in Brooklyn. The parents had a total of four children. As a child, he was very mature and responsible. While attending High School, Karl worked part time and graduated early to help with family expenses. Karl was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Karl believed in enjoying life to the fullest and utilizing education to better others.

After graduating with an Associate Degree, Karl decided to continue his education at John Jay College. He joined the Emergency Medical Technician Program and after taking the Fire Department of New York Exam was promoted to a Firefighter. In his career in personal life he always cared.

We started this fund to honor of his memory along with his belief of helping people. We ask you to help us to remember him by helping others. For this reason, the foundation focuses on promoting the
welfare of children through nutrition, heath care and education.

Although his life ended at only 25, Karl is an exemplifies of the depth and spirit of human perseverance and the fulfillment of human potential. The Goal of the Karl Henri Joseph Education Fund Inc. is to provide an environment where all children can safely grow and gain the tools necessary to reach his or her full potential. It is with this goal in mind that our program began operating in Paillaint Haiti, which is a rural area in the West of Haiti approximately three and a half hours from Port Au Prince.
